I haven't seen it and at this point, really don't want or need to, but this whole... thing, whatever this is going on with the factions on the left is an example as to why we can't get it together and obtain that collective power stuff we like to talk about thst we need to win. https://twitter.com/goodyweaver/status/1344697441493405699
Now, we have two sides who say they share a common goal and are basically arguing about tactics. Each side feel THEIR way is the ONLY way when BOTH sides could stop arguing and figure out an inside/outside campaign designed to win. And that can't happen unless we can COMMUNICATE.
I mean, as an organizer, I am watching this and it is like opening the door of the house of a hoarder and wondering where does one start organizing around THIS? We got folks squaring up, attacking each other, playing private eye and six degrees of separation on who has what...
... and missing the opportunity as well as forgetting how we win. You can advocate for incremental, political change and work with those want accountability of those they elect and frankly, is needed. We have a Congress that is no longer working for or listening to the people.
The reality is that progressives do not have enough candidates in office to create change legislatively, but they certainly have enough to be a lever of power in the House to help push change inside the Democratic Party. What Jimmy Dore #ForceTheVote are asking of Dems...
... is basically what Bernie and is doing now around the $2K stimulus payment and what the GOP knew when they voted 50-11 times to repeal the ACA even though they knew it would fail. The GOP knew the base needed to see the FIGHT.
Back in the day, we used to have think tanks and legislators advise the grasstops on what was coming down the pipe legislatively so that there could be direct tactics used to raise awareness, educate and create political pressure by displaying organized collective power.
We don't see or have much of that anymore and the people are pissed off and tired of waiting for change when they see oppression work at lightning speed. The people aren't content hearing they need to give power and not watch any of it go towards THEM.
Elections have consequences; one of them being accountability after the election is over and something we are not very good at doing as an electorate after elections have passed and politicians have grown too comfortable getting seats and ignoring the ones who elected them.
People are sick and tired of hearing that while their lives deteriorate around them. They are tired of waiting and seeing a dysfunctional government that only works for the few and if the time has come where they have had enough? You'd think there would be incrementalists...
... who are capable of and know how to channel that energy in a way to be productive to meet a shared goal over this messy and ridiculous infighting.

If we can't get it together for this? We won't be able to do anything for anybody on ANY issue.

We got time for THIS?
