for the record: if you engage with a tweet that includes ableist language—or any sort of bigoted language—and do not call it out, you are actively endorsing bigotry, end of story.
you don’t get to pretend bigotry isn’t happening bc someone makes a point you like, or bc the point isn’t about ableism (have seen lots of people responding to ccs that had ableist language without calling it out).
and tbh sometimes i have to check myself on this too! i un-rt stuff if i look back over it & missed something, but if i feel like the point is THAT worth it, i’m gonna say smth in my qrt/engagement. but the more i’ve worked on this the fewer points i find worth it.
it’s not ok to just ignore bigoted/oppressive language because you want to focus on something else.
