So based on my line of work (aka my real job), I was able to get the #CovidVaccine and I wanted to detail you the process of getting the vaccine for me and how it came to be. Especially as someone who had the coronavirus in April I want to detail exactly what happened
Registration is online. Since I live in New York State, the NYS DOH is coordinating the online registration process. Basically you pick the hospital and then from there you can pick a date and time slot. Put in some basic info like name, DOB, and email #CovidVaccine
Each hospital has a unique sign up link just wanted to make that clear and it was only given out at least I have seen through emails. So for instance my job's higherups got emails talking about availability #CovidVaccine
Once you are signed up an email is sent to you that gives you information on your location and time. Very brief and you can print it out. I was also given a consent form to fill out. They info they request is name, DOB, address, your primary doctor address, etc. #CovidVaccine
The consent form also asks questions like are you feeling sick, have you had to isolate due to potential exposure, any allergies, pregnant, illness that weaken your immune system, have you had the flu shot (See below)? #CovidVaccine
The flu shot one is important as a co-worker of mine found out. You have to have 14 days between getting the flu shot and the #CovidVaccine or else you will not be able to get the vaccine.
At the appointment, have your ID on for sign in, you show your consent form they check it real quick, then you have to scan a QR code that has you register some basic info with the NYS DOH again real quick. Name, email, DOB, and some stuff about your profession #CovidVaccine
Once that is filled out you get a green check on the next screen you show them said green check and then are sent to get your vaccination. Vaccination took two seconds and did not hurt at all. #CovidVaccine
After receiving the shot, I was informed of common side effects to look for and then was monitored for about 20 minutes for any adverse reactions. After the 20 minutes passed I was able to leave #CovidVaccine
I was given a card which detailed the vaccine I got, where I got it, the date of my first shot and the date of my next shot. I will be emailed when I need to register again for my next dosage. #CovidVaccine
They emphasized that my next dosage HAS to be on that date no matter what. Time can vary slightly, but I have to get my next dosage on that date #CovidVaccine
I will be publicly monitoring my symptoms (if any) until my next dosage and for some time after my 2nd dosage of the #CovidVaccine
If you have any further questions about it, reach out to me and I will try to answer it as thoroughly as possible. Hopefully this helps someone
