Grateful that, despite a new goblin, I hit my reading goal for the year! A few of my faves that I forgot to post. Sorry-not-sorry that pandemic has uncovered the dark, Pinterest-photo girl deep within my soul. Here’s to more great books in 2021 🍾📚
“Miracles are bestowed upon the world with glorious, unfathomable generosity.”

The Bird King, G. Willow Wilson
If Wes Anderson directed a dysfunctional superhero family movie, it’d be adapted from this book.

Spoonbenders, Daryl Gregory
I only allow myself one Jemisin a year or I’d read everything she’s ever written in one sitting.

The Obelisk Gate, N.K. Jemisin
Any book that makes me want to traipse through a drizzly day in a pair of good boots is a worthy read.

The Near Witch, V.E. Schwab
Do 👏🏻 Not 👏🏻 @ 👏🏻 Me

Red, White & Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston
My kid is 239 days old, so I’ve read this book exactly...80 million times. Still not tired of it.

There Is a Bird on Your Head, Mo Willems
Thomas Cromwell is Batman. Read this again and try and tell me otherwise.

Bring up the Bodies, Hilary Mantel
Find a beautiful place, bring a way to write down your feelings, and read this all in one sitting.

Orbiting Jupiter, Gary D. Schmidt
Do 👏🏻 Not 👏🏻 @ 👏🏻 Me

The Pout-Pout Fish, Deborah Dinesen & Dan Hanna
Noises Off, but if all the stage doors were time portals. Also, there’s a cat and a bulldog worth shipping.

To Say Nothing of the Dog, Connie Willis
This is one of the best superhero stories I’ve ever read. This is where I hope we go. It ran me over in the best way.

She Would Be King, Wayetu Moore
I read this to my daughter, yes, but I bought it for myself, in the Notting Hill Bookshop, before she was even an idea. Each read is equally for both of us.

Franklin’s Flying Bookshop, Jen Campbell
Also, thank you to @SilUnicornActon, @belmontbooks & @ConcordBookshop for being the amazing local bookstores that got us through this year!
