Several years ago a team I coached at military school was in a postgame fight. It was embarrassing & wrong. Many of the young men fighting are fine people. Several served our country after graduation. Mistakes were made in a moment. No different from the game today. Thread/
Overreacting, generalizing, & casting permanent judgements about people involved won't change what happened. They are going to be in society tonight, tomorrow, and going forward. Allow these young men to grow from this & move forward. cont.
Piling on them on social media won't change what happened. Telling everyone how they disgraced the game won't change what happened. Acting as if they are irredeemable won't help them, society, or football going forward. It also isn't true. cont.
Is it better to live a life free from sin, or to become a better version of yourself from the mistakes you have made? I hope they learn & grow into better people from this mistake. I believe they will.
