I'm watching Bulls vs. Wizards to celebrate 2020 because 2020.
Communication isn't there for the Wizards defensively. Smith is trying to keep this on the sideline. Brown isn't in position to help if that happens. White turns the corner, Lopez has to help, easy pass to Gafford for the finish.
White comes off P&R here, Brown is trying to fight over the screen before White comes off which is a big no-no. You have to force him into the screen. White rejects, no one in front, easy lane to the basket. Help steps up which is a dumpoff to the dunker.
The Wizards were really fun offensively last year and they feel completely stuck in the mud early this year. And it's not purely a Westbrook thing
Like what Patrick Williams brings to the table. Old school offense right here, catch, two dribbles, find your spot and fire.
Player development point for Thomas Bryant, you have to be solid in P&R. He runs up with his man but the footwork isn't there and the positioning isn't there either. On the wrong side as LaVine comes off, Bertans has to help, Beal has to rotate, wide open look.
Wizards need more of this. Nice set here, Beal comes off the screen with Bertans in the weakside corner. Bryant goes right into a pindown for him. Thad recovers, Bertans hits Bryant and cuts off. Just need these to go down.
More first level defensive issues for the Wiz. Bertans defending in P&R and he jumps out but there's no real show, no recover, no switch. LaVine just goes the other way to hold Beal. Thad slips which forces Bryant to rotate. Defense holds vs. dunker spot, open 3 for Porter.
Otto Porter Jr revenge game.
oh man what is going on here. Bertans and Bryant switch the screen here which is fine. LaVine drives, Beal contains, everything is fine. Thad and Carter Jr exchange, not a screen, just cut and two go to Thad, Carter Jr gets a dunk.
It feels like the Bulls are running their sets better in the half court but still trying to figure out what to do if the initial play or option isn't there.
Feels like a lot of "hope Zach LaVine makes a play" from the Bulls in the 4th quarter.
I don't hate this shot from LaVine, it's part of the game. The issue is you can always get to this and nothing was really run.
