Tonight I'm remembering the inimitable Dr. Lucas Horan. He went for a midnight swim on Christmas Eve & hasn't been seen or heard from since.

I think many of his pals are on Instagram or Strava. But I know some of you are in this little corner of the web, and maybe eventually they'll intersect.

#LucasHoran ran a 104 mile #MtGaoligongUltra race in China, and (how sweet is this!) his mom went with him. This photo from the finish encapsulates so much about Lucas beyond just running: He lived his entire life with as much vigor and authenticity as he knew how.

We could go anywhere and linger over a painting or a mural or the interior of a church. Followed by good meals that would just keep going #LucasHoran @myersandchang
Nothing was too sacred or too profane for #LucasHoran. He wanted to understand and see it all.
His research was at the molecular level. I couldn’t see it, let alone understand it. But he still wanted to share his work. So he picked up some paper napkins at the Russellville, AR Waffle House and, over greasy eggs, drew pictures of his work on ribosomes for me. #LucasHoran

We were discussing informal, pre-packaging before it went to market. My brother Peter was also talking about designs with him. #LucasHoran is like family to us, so these sporadic, late night back-and-forths were normal for us.
#LucasHoran was a big time researcher doing cutting-edge work. He's the kind of guy the world is desperate to have more of. My question here is when is someone from @EurekaThera going to stand up and speak up on his behalf? #2020patents https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=mm1wJUoAAAAJ&hl=en
