So looking back at 2020, I feel for everyone who has lost loved ones, suffered from loneliness, mental health problems or domestic abuse or just found this year difficult. My negatives are obvious on a personal, national and international level. So here are some positives. 1/5
I'm walking a lot more as I am not automatically taking the car, feeling fitter and happier for it. I’ve taken on a new role at RBK that I've never done before in my 18 years as a Councillor. I have learnt new skills in coaching and facilitating working with SSA. 2/5
I have rediscovered how much I enjoy DIY, so house is painted inside and out, shed is rodent proof and I have many more power tools! Pleased that Corbyn isn't Labour leader so maybe we won't have a Tory Government for the whole of this decade. 3/5
I have lost weight, so can fit back into some of my clothes. I am enjoying the extra work at the LGA, especially with the improvement board and climate change working group. It might be my age showing and I’ve taken up gardening. Great that Trump lost the election. 4/5
Finally got round to dying my hair grey, which might seem odd but I’d wanted to for a while but was nervous what others would think! 2020 made me realise “what the hell, just do it”. But most importantly I and my family are healthy and I am especially grateful for that. 5/5
