THREAD: It's a bit of an understatement to say that 2020 has been rubbish. What was suppose to be a year of adventures and lots of guiding, became a year of unemployment, sadness, fear and worry. 2020 started with Tankfest and MCRS with @Herstory_Club - the best start to a year!
The adventures continued in February with a Waterloo Recce and a trip to Disneyland Paris with an impromptu stop at Neuve Chapelle and the Portuguese Cemetery. I also took the decision to leave my public sector job. Then the madness started.
Lockdown started very harshly with no contact. But this provided me with other oppoortunities, including starting my blog http://historyandmoore.com
Then in April, a tweet from @churchill_alex asking for someone to go on @hack_history led to my first podcast appearance!
That podcast, and others that followed, led to a drunken exchange with Alex and the creation of one of the greatest things to have ever happened to me: the @GreatWarGroup
@GreatWarGroup and @hack_history have brought so many great things and people into my life this year including the GWG trustees ( @gwmcnamee @boiry62128 @PeterBull001 @bigandylock) DTP nutters ( @mcribbHistory @ZwhiteHistory @WW2girl1944 @restorationcake - etc there's too many!)

2020 can absolutely do one. On top of everything else that went on, I did actually suffer with a fairly bad case of COVID-19 in November, which in all honesty I'm still recovering from, physically, emotionally and mentally.
But I'm determined to look on the bright side and find the good points of this horrid year, of which hopefully there has been some for us all. Let us all hope that 2021 will have some sort of happiness for us all, and maybe a small return to reality. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
