Thread: Given the ongoing rise in cases, hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths in Ontario, here are a few things government can do immediately. (Some of this applies to hotspots only).

1. Amber Alert messages to all phones reminding people of key public health guidance.
2. Daily press conference led by a credible public health leader. We have many.

3. No in-person school for at least 4 weeks, with a plan to reassess at end of week 3.
4. Order people to stay at home except for essential purposes (caregiving, groceries, health care, essential work, etc.) and healthy outdoor activity.
5. Much tighter definitions about what constitutes essential work - e.g., stores that sell essential goods and non-essential goods should only be allowed to sell essential goods.

6. Ban regional, interprovincial and international travel, except for essential purposes.
This is just a list of what government could do today or tomorrow.

There is a much longer list of things that government can and should do over the coming weeks.
