Well what a year!
We discovered new ways to keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues, we’ve lost so many wonderful people, we’ve made so many new friends, we’ve also found new ways to help and support our communities.

It all started with a New Year’s Day @parkrun
I returned to #Lebanon in January with @paulmartin83 to make good on our commitment to support and work with the Palestinian refugees that live in the Beddawi camp.

Our community clean ups and free skips where well used right across the whole ward.
I am sure if there was a litterpicking challenge I would be well in with a chance of winning!
Half term was the last of our group activities from @createspacesco story box in @LifeRooms_MC, @StanleyParkjpr and planting trees with @ricelaneprimary
COVID and the lockdown brought out the best in our communities.
We saw so many individuals and groups step up to help those shielding and struggling.
We set up Flowers foodbank and Walton Vale Community Shop to help wherever we could.

I even set up the AOB home delivery service!
The COVID pandemic didn’t stop up creating even more jazzy jiggers! Working with residents we have cleaned and greened up lots of our alleyways that allow people to have some additional space to sit and chat - at a distance with neighbours.
We lost Dad in July, due to COVID restrictions we couldn’t be with him, we couldn’t hug and kiss him, we could hold his hand. During this time we saw people who thought they were above the law break lockdown rules and try to make up excuses for this. My dad was so angry with them
It was so sad not to have our local schools involved in planting this years wildflowers so we provided seeds in paper bags to families so they could still take part. The results were so beautiful and brightened up people’s daily walks.
An explosion of the port of #Beirut devastated the city, homes, hospitals and so many lives. We set up a fundraiser to send supplies to the the refugees camps. In October we filled the container with food, clothes, shoes, medical supplies and personal care products.
Thank you
We lost our good friend and colleague @MacDicky to COVID. Richard should have retired in May and was so looking forward to being with his wife and family. He is missed so much.
Even managed to squeeze in some leafleting in between lockdowns!
Zoom and Teams meetings became the new norm with everyone at some point saying or been told ‘You’re on mute’
@SSENorthWest and @homebakedclt celebrations were just as much fun though!
Our community shop and our Flowers foodbank created 90 Christmas hampers to help families over the festive period.
Thank you to everyone that donated food and toys that made Christmas so special for those families.
Happy New Year everyone 🌟🌟🌟
