The @UN has designated 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as a few other things.
The International Year of Peace and Trust 2021 was declared by the UN general assembly on 12/9/2019. The declaration notes the link between a culture of peace and sustainable development. But it’s up to member states/NGOs etc to decide how to observe it. https://digitallibrary.un.org/record/3826449?ln=en
The International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable
Development 2021 is also, as the name suggests, linked to the @UN sustainable development goals. It’s about encouraging creative industries in developing countries. https://documents-dds-ny.un.org/doc/UNDOC/GEN/N19/433/84/PDF/N1943384.pdf?OpenElement
The International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 2021 has a logo and everything! It’s related to the @UN Decade of Action on Nutrition (2016–2025). The lead agency is @FAO, so you can expect to be hearing a lot about 🍎🍐🍊 and 🍆🍅🥕 this year! http://www.fao.org/fruits-vegetables-2021/en/
Finally, 2021 is Int’l Year for the Elimination of Child Labour. There are 152 million children in child labour globally. Elimination of #childlabour is both a #HumanRights and #SustainableDevelopment issue, worsened by COVID-19. @ilo is lead agency: https://www.ilo.org/global/topics/child-labour/int-year/lang--en/index.htm
