Look, I don’t want to sugarcoat things. 2020 was dreadful. Terrible things happened, over and over again. The absolute least competent people mismanaged the worst public health crisis in a century. We lost loved ones. We have seen the worst in each other. It was a total shitshow
And no, there is no magic cure to what ails us. When the clock strikes midnight, nothing changes other than our collective delusion that things have somehow become different
But the past is not the future. We are on the precipice of new leadership. The tireless efforts of the medical community have secured a light for all of us at the end of the tunnel. And deep down, somewhere in the muck and mire of hopelessness, I believe there is a seed of hope
2021 isn’t going to BE better. We are going to MAKE IT BETTER. I truly believe that. I believe we are going to right the ship. I believe we’re going to do great things, as individuals AND as a society. We absolutely have the ability to get our shit together, and I believe we will
Stay safe, stay home (if you can), don’t be an asshole, believe that things can improve and then do all you can to make it so. Help each other. No one can do it alone
And if you live in Georgia, vote for @ossoff and @ReverendWarnock on January 5th. We need them
