1. I look forward to 2021 with optimism. Not because of Brexit. That will be an unmitigated disaster. Not because of any faith in this shower of a govt to protect us from Covid. Fingers crossed the vaccines will work! >
2. I look forward to 2021 with optimism. Not because of the "imminent" care review. I am fairly certain this govt & its officials will try to manipulate that to push kids into adoption, promote the 'for profit' sector & take even less responsibility for care experienced people. >
3. I look forward to 2021 with optimism. Not because I see any readiness of children's services leaders or the care sector to engage the care family. Their reaction towards SI445 & govt policy towards unregulated care show they are not.>
4. I look to 2021 with optimism because I see an awakening of the care experienced community of all ages, recognising they have a right to be heard without professionals' consent or filtering. I see 2021 witnessing an exponential growth in the empowerment of the care family>
5. I look forward to 2021 with optimism because this is the year the care experienced community, & all our many friends who accept our right to a place at the table without setting pre conditions, will finally be recognised>
6. After years of campaigning, 2021 can be the year that our care experienced community, of all ages, in all our brilliant, creative & awesome diversity, will come together as one community. We are not "clients", "LACs", "formerly relevant' or any other label. We are real people>
7. In 2021, I truly hope to sit back & watch our care community flourish & grow in strength, confidence & influence. So many talented people! A very happy New Year to all care experienced family wherever you are, & to all our genuine friends. May 2021 make your wishes come true.
