- after a few difficult years, this one has probably been my hardest. So I guess that's rock bottom? Suppose so. I'm not going to be melodramatic or attention-seeking and go into details, but this year got pretty dark.

- Change, serious and profound change, is terrifying and brutal and incredibly uncomfortable. But it's also inevitable and by definition the start of something new. As TS Eliot wrote "to make an ending is to make a beginning".

Donald Trump lost.
Yeah, the guy who won is pretty useless, and it should have been Bernie who would've actually made the world a better place, but neither of them are literal orange fascists and did I mention that @realDonaldTrump LOST the election?

The saying goes that when you've hit rock bottom there's only one direction you can then go. Well, there are two actually, but I'm fairly confident I'm going to head in the more positive one. Change might be painful but at least it's something different.

- Some people have been truly brilliant to me this year, supportive and kind and helpful way beyond what I think they realise. They know who they are. Some other people who I would have expected more from have been shit. They know who they are too.

If 2020 has taught me anything, it's been gratitude. I know the meaning of the word. And at the very least, I'm not going anywhere until I've repaid the kindness people have shown me, and then some. That's my resolution.
