I typically prefer to let our work speak for itself, but I feel compelled to speak on its behalf as we close out 2020. It was a challenging and rewarding year.

So I’m going to share some stuff, if that’s okay 🧵
• We started 2020 with a thread detailing 10 years of New Year’s tweets

• We covered our first Hall of Fame election and (prepared for) the second number retirement

• We hosted fan fest, with cup stacking competition

• Hosted Season Ticket Holder event (S/O @Chuck_Nazty)
• Had a blast doing “The Truck Shoot” with our friends at @freshtapemedia. Incredible concept and execution by @Mahuggi and the crew.

@lilmorris19 did an outstanding job with Spring Training content, bringing people right into camp; raw all-access stuff
Then, the world changed forever on March 12. I’m proud of how we immediately pulled together and determined how we would proactively communicate with and reach out to our fans. This thread was written during the most uncertain time, but served as a guide for the months ahead.
• Feed the Rockies and Charity Night were huge projects and great successes with far too many people to thank

• The homemade mask project was @LjAcs’ great idea that blossomed into something special

• Proud of how we shared stories and supported social justice movements
• Out of Context Quarantine Tips repurposed old interviews in a new way (S/O @joshbg7)

• Mystery Takeover was really fun until circumstances changed and we decided to drop it

• Copied “Some Good News” to create “Jacket Guy Report” (S/O @camtheramman)

• Gifted toilet paper
Discovered the power of text-only tweets. So much time, effort and money is spent on great visual content—for good reason—but a well-crafted tweet sent at the right moment can outperform everything. Multimedia can be a distraction.

Always have to keep social media, well, social.
• The Rockies Periodic Table is an all-time favorite

• The wrestling thread is an all-time favorite (S/O @AdmirableNelson)

• The golf audio highlights are an all-time favorite (S/O @jarzod)

• Created another historical thread for AtRockies’ 10th birthday
I can’t say enough about how incredible @DirksenPhoto and @joshbg7 were during Summer Camp, which was a truly unique experience from a content and coverage standpoint. They’re brilliant.

Got in on the GoPro trend and took the drone for a spin.
• Linked up with AtDrawAWalk for a 25th Anniversary art project

@mosley_mark did some fun baseball cards for our roster announcement

(Excited to expand upon these art partnerships in the future, for both digital and publications projects)
Then there was actual baseball! In covering 2020 games, we wanted to make sure the unique and eerie nature of the season came through. The real story of sports in 2020 had little to do with the actual games; we wanted to embrace the weird and tell the 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 story.
• Honored to help tell the story of Daniel Bard’s comeback

• The Overused Office Jargon Game was a blast

• Partnered with @RockiesSub for a virtual Bark at the Park game

• Kept a running thread of the funniest/most unique/celebrity cutouts at each park (nine cities)
• Shared a heartfelt end of season thread because, yes, I like threads

• Started weekly classic games on YouTube (S/O @jeffdonehoo)

• The birthday wish project is fun, though I’m a few weeks behind

• Fleets came along and now people see my horrendous penmanship every day
• Our annual hypothetical family Thanksgiving live tweet is always one of my favorites

• The RockiesVision crew crushed the “Love Actually” holiday video

• Christmas lineup cards were fun and I got to do it with my family

• Club Zoom call was a different way to end it all
