I mailed in my @baseballhall vote yesterday. Operating from the belief there are at least 16 worthy choices on the ballot, cutting down from 11 was especially hard. If my ballot could have gone to 11, I'd have been able to keep Billy Wagner.
The Buehrle/Hudson/Pettitte trio might have been anticipated by my voting for Pettitte last year. They are effectively equally worthy.
Glad to add Andruw Jones; I cannot punish him for other voters' failures to also acknowledge the worthiness of Jim Edmonds & Kenny Lofton.
Really hoping that Rolen & Sheffield get there, of course. And it is beyond ludicrous that the hall makes room for Bud Selig, but not Sammy Sosa, one of the players most responsible for repairing the damage of the WS he canceled.
Folks are noticing (again) that I skipped Clemens, which I first did last year. I explained why here: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28510295/2020-baseball-hall-fame-did-our-voters-pick
I also spoke about the decision to ditch Clemens in a recent phoner with @JonZSports
To expand on Buehrle/Hudson/Pettitte, I go back to Herb Pennock, voted in by @officialBBWAA. If that's the standard, all 3 are far better than Pennock. I want all 3 over 5% b/c I want us to keep talking about all 3.
Finally, I understand folks get upset over who isn't on any one ballot. Blame limiting the ballot to 10 & broad criteria. I believe 16 guys on this ballot are worthy of consideration, which forces choices b/c of the 5% rule.
