1/As we close the chapter on the most incompetent and corrupt president in American history, let's remember that we are here because this nation lost it's mind over an impeccable, excellent Black man ascending to the presidency and occupying the WH with his family for 8 years.
2/ There are words some dudes scrawled on a piece of parchment with a quill pen about liberty and justice for all. Then there's the truth. America was founded and built on white supremacy. That's our DNA. trump wasn't an accident but an inevitability. There will be another trump.
3/Some lament that Obama created the conditions for trump. I don't. Obama was a necessary accelerant for a process that would have taken much longer if McCain won. The attitudes of trump supporters were always there. Trump just gave them the courage to show all of their asses.
4/ As much as I am relieved that Joe won, I'm also sober that he and Kamala won't fix America. Half of the nation is willing to toss "sacred" democracy aside to protect white supremacy. This would be a lot less obvious without the volcanic animus Obama created.
5/ The social, political and economic pressure will continue to build as demographics continue to rapidly shift and white men feel the terror of slipping into the minority.

Let's see if we actually become the words on the parchment or fall into full Apartheid.

Happy New Year.
