Here are a few of my favourite folks in BC politics, media, and culture in 2020 — shameless plugs included.
My favourite This is VANCOLOUR guest of 2020 is @tamarataggart.

These are two provocative, informative, and emotional podcast episodes worth your attention:

My favourite #bcpoli personality in 2020 is @BowinnMa!

Minister Ma is incredibly hard-working, thoughtful, and outspoken. Even if you disagree with her politics, she represents the caliber of publicly-elected officials we need now and tomorrow.
My favourite #bcpoli moment of the year is Minister of Public Safety @mikefarnworthbc mincing no words for anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, and people flouting the COVID-19 rules:

“Shut up, grow up, and mask up!”
My favourite piece of #bcpoli election coverage is @j_mcelroy tracking BC Liberal messaging involving big trucks!

(Plug: Justin McElroy was also featured on Episode #91 of This is VANCOLOUR)

My favourite BC media personality is @GlobalBC’s @NeetuGarcha!
What a superstar 🤩

She puts on a clinic in her interviews with Premier Horgan (see below) and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.

She’s also featured on Episode #101 of This is VANCOLOUR!
My favourite BC radio programming is The Lynda Steele Show on @CKNW.

@steeletalk, @AmirsDoingItAll, @chapappay, @alan_regan are among the best in the business in delivering engaging, entertaining, and important radio.

Here’s a clip of me from 2020:
My favourite investigative reporters in BC media are two guys who I’m begging to be on the podcast in 2021:
@GlobalBC’s @scoopercooper and @JohnHua — two fellas who have shook the province with their discoveries.
Another gem of investigative reporting, my favourite BC media personality to follow on Twitter is @ianjamesyoung70!

Hilarious and insightful, Ian gives you the goods whether he’s destroying trolls or disseminating truths.

(And yes, Episode #74 of This is VANCOLOUR) https://twitter.com/ianjamesyoung70/status/1337073735937900545
My favourite BC comedian in 2020 is @MsKatieEllen Humphries!

In a tough year for stand-up comics, Katie-Ellen put out a beast of a comedy album, “Ladyfinger”, which you should listen to right now! https://open.spotify.com/album/3zo8sgUKIgAaSGN2WdDwsB?si=3p6lCmTHRle4410Qjl3E3g
It would be too obvious to say Dr. Bonnie Henry, so my favourite BC experts in their respective fields are as follows:

@animallawcanada - animal rights
@IRPlawyer - driving/criminal law
@MediatedReality - social media
@DrMtyndall - opioids crisis
My favourite storyteller — both in their journalism and narrative non-fiction — is @AngelaSterritt.

She delivered one of my favourite podcast episodes this year and an incredible Ted Talk! Check out both, in anticipation of her book “UNBROKEN”!
My favourite BC podcast is @crackdownpod hosted by @garthmullins.

This is essential, research-based listening on the opioids crisis, brought to you by drug user activists. https://twitter.com/cbcpodcasts/status/1341418170326892544
