So the way we do japji sahib with my kids is my wife handles 1-19 paudi in the morning and I finish off the other half after lunch - keeps them focused entire time as they lose interest if you try to go start to finish - almost %70 memorized already and they are fairly young
To introduce new bani I'll bring in 5 paudi from various Nitnem banis and try to make sure they are different - idea was when they go thru it later on it'll all be way more familiar
I do the sikh ardaas first part and the smaapti part before I drop them off at school in the car - also easily memorized
Here are the individual names I get them to say out loud on the drive to school

- 10 gurus
- 4 sahibzaade
- 5 pyaare
- 5 takht
So point is these little things all add up to habit and verbatim memory on basics -

Believe me I don't push or force my kids on any of this stuff - you can gauge your own kids interest level, if they're not receptive don't force

We only started with just the mul mantr
If you really can't get them engaged on any level then meditation with vaheguru da simran is an option - getting them into habit of vaheguru da simran for 30 secs is massive
Full disclosure - I am no saint myself(far from it) but I do feel as a parents it's my responsibility to introduce them to Sikhi - we owe it to out kids to not repeat the errors of the previous 1st gen immigrant parents
