I am very proud of @YouSGirls Heavy Light that came out this year!
I got such lovely shout outs for my vocal direction and arrangements! I wanted to get more specific about how this record was a collaborative effort:
4 American Dollars I got my mitts on early and did a good chunk of arranging but a lot of the basis for the backups was done early by Meg and @BasiaBulat - plus some amazing layers created by @ddoorroo and @ImJamesBaley
Overtime - @ImJamesBaley obviously came up with his own solo. Needs no direction. Did you know thats Jake Clemons on sax?!
IOU was mainly Basia, Doro and Kassie - @ddoorroo did Woodstock 99 on her own and it is my fave arrangement on the whole record. Kass and Basia did all of And Yet it Moves. State house was a group effort, and Red Ford Radio was pure Meg and Kassie connectivity exploding.
I did have a big hand in Born To Lose, Quiver to the Bomb and Denise but just to reiterate: most of these vocalists were chosen for their ability to harmonize and collaborate with very little direction.
I would give anything to sing around a mic with these folks again. Thanks for listening to and supporting this record. 💜
