I see lots of "good riddance to 2020" posts, and I want to agree. However, one thing I've learned from the past few years is that the simple passage of time doesn't make anything easier or better.

#GoodBye2020
I think that we are starting to learn that no person or institution will save us. It's up to us to act when we want to fix something, or make our world better.
By all indications, 2021 is still going to be a tough year. We see sparks of hope, but those sparks must be fanned into flames.
Anti-racism doesn't fix itself, we have to fix it (I'm looking especially at my white friends). The vaccine will help, but we need a health care system that will keep us safe and healthy and actually get the vaccine to everyone so we can stop the spread.
The laws and policies that govern our lives aren't going to be just unless we demand they be.
So, let's wish 2020 a good riddance, but move into 2021 intentional about what we want to see happen in the world, and what we are willing to do to make it thus.

#HappyNewYear, friends!
