#OsimeBrown was convicted under a law that no longer exists called 'Joint Enterprise'. The reason this law was repealed is that it led to unfair and wrongful convictions! People were being sentenced for witnessing crimes, not commiting them.

The Supreme Court ruled in February 2016 that the law, which dates back several hundred years, was routinely being misinterpreted and used to convict incorrectly. The law has since been repealed.
Osime was convicted over a stolen phone. A phone he did not steal, but witnessed being stolen. He was sentenced at 17 years old and detained. He is now being deported to Jamaica.

He has little right of appeal, look at how savage deportation criteria is: https://righttoremain.org.uk/toolkit/removal/
There is virtually no right of appeal. If the home office says you leave, you leave.

He is now just 22, and being sent to Jamaica. He was 4 when he left. He does not remember Jamaica. He is severely autistic. His mother has expressed fears of his death if he is deported.
Following Windrush, the Home Office agreed with Jamaica (unofficially) that no one who arrived in the UK under the age of 13 would be deported. Osime was 4.

As this was unofficial and not law, Osime does not benefit from the agreement. I doubt he even knows about it.
So Osime is being deported for witnessing a phone being stolen, using a law that no longer exists.

The reason he is being deported as if he isn't British is Sajid Javid didn't keep him word, and Priti Patel is ignoring calls for his release. She could stop this.
Please educate yourself on this. This is the UK telling vulnerable black men and women that they do not matter. We must push against that.

Black lives do matter, they always have mattered and they always will matter. We need to push for Osimes freedom in Britain and campaign
So that this never happens again. How can you feel safe in Britain as a person of colour if you can be transported to a country you do not know, simply for witnessing a crime? How is that justice?

#OsimeNeedsHisFamily and Osime needs you.
