This is how I plan out my goals

1. My main long term goals are on a white board where I can see them every day
This keeps me motivated and helps me remember what I want to do. If I need to make a decision,I refer back to this and ask which choice helps me get closer to my goals?

2. Then I break them down into quarterly goals.
Bc I have ADHD ,it's much easier for me to focus on things in the short term versus the long term. This also allows flexibility which is important as life can change at any time

3. Each day,I make a list of three top priorities that have to be done.
These are attainable things that I can do each day to push myself a little further. Make sure that you chose things that can be done in one day that you have control over.

If your goals are based on other people, then you aren't really in control of them and have no way of making sure those goals happen.
4. Tell everyone what you want to achieve
You'd be surprised how many kind and generous people out there who want to help other people. By telling others, you can open yourself up to more opportunities.

5. Find people who have achieved your goal
I like to seek advice from people who have gone before me. I do this by reading biographies or business books. I also will reach out to people directly and ask them.
The key here is not to get a detailed roadmap ,but a general idea.

All of these steps have helped me in the past. What helps you?
