This is just a continuation from the other thread, now onto my favourite part of this thread as I didn’t really ever think of this part until now so here’s my top 10 favourite artists/rappers from 2020 I’ve also added a rating out of 10 that I would rate their year.
1. @AlleyRocketRV (7) now he’s mainly top due to away from me listening to his music he’s a really nice and cool guy to talk to as it’s been a few months now since I first interacted with him and listened to his music. First album was a debut solid album with a few bangers.
2. @denzelcurry (9) he’s had a pretty much perfect year with his albums and features being good, with his album it’s different to what he’s done before for an album. Then you also have his feature run this year which has been mainly great.
3. @KotaTheFriend (8) another person who has a good year as his album was good to me as it’s a very enjoyable album to listen with bangers in it especially with a Song Of The Year contender with Volvo in my opinion.
4. Mac Millar (10) for me it’s between him and Freddie Gibbs for artist/rapper of the year as both have had an amazing year as both Circles and Alfredo are in my top 2 albums of the year (Circles over Alfredo) too. Shame that Mac Millar can’t see the success he’s had this year.
5. Pop Smoke (8) this was his breakout year by far as he has numerous songs which are absolute bangers like The Woo, Aim For The Moon and Make It Rain. All of them really make people give him the attention he deserves, both his albums (non deluxe ones) were solid too.
6. Juice Wrld (6) this year to say the least was his worst year however obviously not his fault as for me it was more down to the decisions by certain people that just didn’t make sense to me. LND to me was decent mainly because of the singles released before the album release.
7. @KidCudi (8) finally got a very highly anticipated album which for me loved up to the expectations of myself and others going into listening to the album. MOTM 3 was a great album to me I would say it’s the second best from the trilogy overall great year for him.
8. @BennyBsf (9) another person who had a great year as he solidified himself as the best member from Griselda no offence to other two as they had a good year too but on bar with him this year. His solo album was a great album and a big surprise to me the quality of it.
9. @Xchrispatrick (7) literally the exact same thing I said about Alley Rocket relates to Chris as both are quite similar away from the music. Chris had a good year especially with Swish and 3AM as both singles did very well number wise. I feel like next year will be his year.
10. @FreddieGibbs (10) Freddie has had the joint best year as both his album and feature run has been great also add his Instagram to the mix (which has made me laugh a lot this year). I hope in the awards he gets what he rightfully deserves.
Now onto the last part of this thread my top 10 favourite features from 2020 (the ratings out of 10 are for the feature) here we go.
1. Pardon Me - @lilyachty ft @1future (10) I mean this is his best feature this year to me as it’s perfect as he carries this song Lil Yachty does match his energy in the song tho so fair play for that. What sets this feature from his others is the whistle just so good.
2. Mannequin Challenge - @youngthug ft Juice Wrld (10) definitely another feature which is the feature rapper’s best this year , this feature compliments Young Thug’s energy very well however I still feel Juice carries this song as his verse to me is a good bit better.
3. Smack DVD - @SAINtJHN ft @kanyewest (9) I would consider this feature to be Ye’s best this year and same goes for what I said about the last one however Kanye and SAINt JHN both work very well together on a song and I hope they will make more music together.
4. Show Out - @KidCudi ft @Skepta (10) I mean there’s nothing more than flawless that I can say about this feature as Skepta carries this song as this song really showed quite a lot of people just how great he is, Pop Smoke’s feature was decent too.
5. T.D - @lilyachty ft @tylerthecreator (9) nothing screams Tyler The Creator type of beat than the beat in this song as this type of interesting beat is when Tyler can seriously show off his talent here as his verse goes very hard along with the other verses.
6. Levitating - @DUALIPA ft @DaBabyDaBaby (8) this is a song and feature which at first I didn’t think I would like but turned out to obviously be one of my favourites from this year. Dua Lipa and DaBaby deliver this remix very well with it being a high energy and feel good vibes
7. The Neverending Story - @JayElectronica ft Jay - Z (8) the only reason this ain’t higher is because of how good Jay Electronica’s verse was before that Jay - Z didn’t carry but still did one hell of a job also another reason is that the verse is a bit too short too.
8. $500 Ounces - @WESTSIDEGUNN ft @FreddieGibbs (10) Freddie goes super hard in this feature as the flow along with the great beat and weird ass sample in the background with the moaning or whatever it is. This is probably the hardest carry from a feature I’ve heard in a while.
9. Trust Nobody - @DJSCHEME_ ft @joeyBADASS (9) this is a great feature as in my opinion it’s the best song on the album as it’s a great and seems like Joey means everything he says in this song also I’m glad that he’s the only rapper or artist on this song.
10. Yessirskii - @LILUZIVERT ft @21savage (9) this was an interesting feature when I first heard that he would be on this album and 21 was so much better than my expectations for him on a type of album like that. The beat and 21’s flow matches so well and sets up Uzi well after.
I hope yous enjoy the threads sorry it’s in two but I couldn’t do anything about it as I wanted to do the thread in detail. Also there’s a lot of albums, songs and features which just missed out
If you enjoy this then make sure to like,rt, quote and can you tag the people I’ve @ in any of the top 10s too to see if any of them will interact or anything like I’ll be very happy if they did.
