My top 10 Hip Hop albums of 2020: A Thread
10. Playboi Carti: Whole Lotta Red

This album is just so weird man. I don't even think I've fully processed this yet but this is album is like a Rock Star's cry for help in my eyes. The production is incredibly layered and Carti is the most vocal he had ever been on an album.
9. Elzhi: Seven Times Down Eight Times Up

Elzhi's lyricism is just incredibly technical with a load of substance. The production is a perfect backdrop for El to just spit over and some of the hooks are real catchy, especially for this kind of album. He just doesn't miss.
8. Benny The Butcher: Burden Of Proof.

I LOVE the direction Benny went with on this album. Getting Hit Boy and just really meshing with these non-boom bap beats really is a breath of fresh air. Benny's pen is as impressive as ever, as a first listen I was blown away. Fire album
7. Stove God Cooks and Roc Marciano: Reasonable Drought

One of the best debut albums in recent memory, Cooks has a level of charisma that is just on another level compared to most in 2020. And Roc really did kill the production that complements Stove God so well
6. Boldy James and Sterling Toles: Manger On McNichols

Boldy's 2020 run is insane. I thought he had reached his peak with potic, but this album is just really special and very personal. The emotion he puts into this album is just soul touching. And the production is just crazy
The production is so experimental and it encompasses almost everything I love about Detroit Hip Hop. Boldy and Sterling really went above and beyond on this project. Some of the most emotional songs written this year land on this project. Just amazing.
5.21 Savage and Metro Boomin:Savage Mode 2

This shit exceeded all my expectations and then some. I didn't expect myself to like this album as much as I do but man, this album is incredible, Metro's production is impeccable, 21 is rapping his ass off, Morgan Freeman narration? 🔥
4. From King To A God: Deluxe Edition: Conway

It's just insane how good Conway is. Some of the best songwriting on a Griselda album ever, introspective moments from Con, killer production from guys like Daringer and Havoc, this album is everything you could want from NY in 2020
3. Che Noir and Apollo Brown: As God Intended.

I think you can really tell that Che and Apollo really went into this album to make a classic and man did they deliver. With some of the best production of the year, Che puts on one of the best rapping performances of the year. 🔥
2.KA:Descendants Of Cain

Lyrically this album has no superior in 2020. Every single line is a quotable, the atmosphere created by the eerie production is just killer. This album is a mood album, but in 2020, I'm definitely in the mood for some KA. I Love is my outro of the year.
1. Blu and Exile: Miles

An absolute beast of an album clocking in a 95 minute run time, Blu and Exile have done it again. The best produced album of the year, Blu is rapping some of his best stuff ever; this is a 95 min album of all killer no filler. Amazing.
🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
That's the list but seeing as tho I probably won't do a non HH list, I just wanted to say that After Hours is my album of the year, all genres included. Some of Abel's best work on here. Just everything I love about his music on a cohesive album. Most certainly aoty imo
