Like many people, I lost a lot this year: friends, jobs, and the everyday things that make up a life.
However, on the last day of 2020, I'm accentuating the positive, and throughout the day threading some of the professional things I'm very proud of....

Starting with something from my role as Global Film & TV Editor for @AMEXessentials, talking to @WWE Superstar & LGBTQ+ hero Daria Berenato aka @SonyaDevilleWWE during the summer. https://www.amexessentials.com/interview-with-daria-berenato-sonya-deville/
Also in the summer, we got cinemas back for a bit, spearheaded by Christopher Nolan's Tenet. A bold film with impossible expectations thrust upon it, it proved a wonderful (albeit temporary) return to screenings. My review for @CityAM https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cityam.com/tenet-film-review-can-christopher-nolan-save-cinema-with-his-latest-time-bending-blockbuster/amp/
It was a teeny bit harrowing to be asked "ARE CINEMAS DEAD?" by many radio hosts following the recent WB/HBO news(answer: I don't think so, but nothings for certain). Nevertheless I was proud as punch to talk about it on @bbcworldservice
Also a pleasure to appear on @AlarabyTV a couple of months ago, discussing the history of drive in cinema...
Back in more optimistic times, I had the pleasure of editing @REEL_CINEMAS in house magazine, Reel Film. Sadly many of the films got moved but to put together a whole darn magazine was incredible, looking forward to hopefully editing more in the new year https://issuu.com/jamesluxford/docs/reel_news_septdec_20
My review of one of my favourite movies of this year, the heartbreaking Babyteeth, for @DMovies_org https://www.dmovies.org/2020/08/06/babyteeth/
Had a lot of fun writing this piece about #Goldeneye for @zavvi which honestly feels like 6 months ago but time has no meaning in 2020. Also big applause for @EmilyVMurray & all the editors going out of their way for freelancers this year

It was a strange time for it to happen, but this summer was honoured to be accepted into @londoncritics alongside writers and broadcasters I greatly admire. http://criticscircle.org.uk/film-section-welcomes-seven-new-members/
I did a newsletter during lockdown because I needed to write about film and I don't like/can't make Banana Bread. The Red Sticker Diaries became a lovely side project that got a little following. I hope to get the time to resurrect it eventually!
