Compiling a few takes on the Boston Dynamics dance video, a brief thread (mostly for my own reference):
@TimBarnes451 swapping the soundtrack with "Whitey On The Moon" highlights the huge resources spent on technological folly while so many are suffering: https://twitter.com/TimBarnes451/status/1344045128072253442
@PrivacyLaw_JJW asserts the BD "bro-bots" are an manifestation of an unethical worldview in which "domination and control over pseudo-humans becomes increasingly hard to distinguish from the same desire for domination and control over actual humans" https://twitter.com/PrivacyLaw_JJW/status/1344581081291485185
@selfawaresoup argues that the video presents "military equipment in a way that appeals aesthetically while distracting from its actual or intended use." https://twitter.com/selfawaresoup/status/1344183766638604288
One take I have not seen (yet): how ghoulish it is, in the shadow of BLM, to appropriate Black music and dance idioms in the service of advertising what are obviously (proto) robo-cops. BD may have licensed the music, but not the moves. #WhoStoleTheSoul
