When a man can r@pe a woman(or a child) knowing he will be punished or maybe given capital punishment. Imagine what he can do to his wife/property when he is sure that he won’t be punished for it.
Worst part is next morning you get up and act all normal and prepare breakfast for him and at night you know it might happen again.

Saying that law isn’t needed imo. Because burden of proof lies on the husband/man (thsoe demanding law should watch Movie Section 375 to get Some idea how this can be misused and affect the very institution of marriage)
Moreover we already have domestic violence laws in our country. One can seek justice if they want to seek legal help.
I have seen women who have suffered this, not able to walk for 2/3 days that too in a tier 1 city.

Also! Most of the marriages in India are Arrange marriage, the man is relatively a stranger for her not every one gets to talk hours before actually marrying them.
