A data driven analysis on Akash Mishra, a thread:
GROUND DUELS:
- attempts more duels than average i.e. he is called into action more than the average FB
- 5th best ground duels success %.

Even though he attempts more duels than avg, he maintains a great success rate. Extremely quick and good at covering ground and challenging
AERIAL DUELS:

- Again, called into action more than avg here
- Success rate isn't the best, but still more than 50%
- Could struggle against a burly winger

Current stats are decent, but needs to gain a bit of muscle to be right at the top
CROSSING:

- Doesn't attempt as many since Asish is the main provider in @HydFCOfficial
- 4th highest accuracy

Could get quite a few assists if he is allowed to cross more, but this is dependent on system.
KEY PASSES:

- Again, not much final product here because Asish mostly creates the chances
- Akash mostly deals with keeping possession, and circulating the ball
- 41 passes p90 with 77% accuracy. Very very good numbers for an Indian FB
DRIBBLING
- 3rd highest dribbles attempted
- This generally comes when he transitions quickly from defense to attack
- Accuracy is just above average, but it's alright because he is a high volume dribbler.
- There is room to improve though
DISPOSSESSED:

- Since it is good to not lose the ball, it is good that he is below average
- Not significantly below, so he could get better there
- Since he sees the ball more, he is more prone to losing it. In that sense, straying below average here is decent
EYE TEST:
Slide 1: He has tackled Le Fondre
Slide 2, 3 and 4: Mumbai win the ball, and work it back to ALF. Mishra switched off after the tackle and didn't track back at all

The play almost ended with ALF scoring
Sahal took the shot here, but look at the dist between Akash (who was jogging) and Rahul KP. If there was a cross at the far-post, it could have been a lot worse.
Even though he is good at defensive challenges, he has lapses of concentration where he doesn't track his target. This is a side-effect of playing higher up the pitch but it has to be improved.
Verdict:
- He is very well rounded in several departments
- Needs some time to mature with defensive positioning
- One of the most complete full-backs we have.
