All sorts of sad about this. An economic blow - the value of our creative industries once exceeded £100bn. A personal blow to individuals who will no longer be employable. And, likely, a fatal cultural blow to a sector that was the best of our nation. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/dec/29/uk-performers-raise-alarm-as-brexit-deal-threatens-eu-touring
The sectors where Britain might lay proper claim to being world leading are few but included performing arts. Hard to see how this claim might outlast a Brexit deal that seems almost deliberately to spite a sector that (with few exceptions) opposed it.
Of course, the mentalities that drove Brexit - of tax dodgers, disaster capitalists and the other unfortunate parasites of capitalism - cared little for such things. But the performing arts made Britain great for many who call it home. And they now face fatal losses.
