Today is the last day of 2020 [thank goodness], and so I decided to make a thread of my favourite K-pop songs this year—from title tracks to b-sides.

Just a disclaimer: these songs are genuinely my picks for the year, so I hope you learn to respect my list.

25. Maria - Hwasa
{This song is definitely one of my favourite solo songs of the year, it hits so differently and it’s just overall an amazing song, I’d love to rank this higher but honestly my mind’s a mess rn so nvm}

24. Dive - iKON
{What a masterpiece, I’m actually really glad we started off the year with this song although I felt sad when I first listened to it since...you know...iKON is such an under-appreciated artist and this song isn’t given much recognition.}

23. 2U - Kang Daniel
{This was so catchy and was on repeat for quite a time, an amazing song but then again it’s Kang Daniel, couldn’t expect anything less.}

22. Gravity - Ong Seong Wu
{This song is immaculate, we need to take a moment to appreciate this song. This is ART. Fucking art, everything about this song is beautiful from the visuals to the song, to the dance. Literally top tier.}

21. AYA - MAMAMOO
{This song is so unique, I’ve never really heard anything like this in Kpop before, very bollywood. The melody and beat is catchy. The choreo is very satisfying to watch tbh.}

20. Play - CHUNG HA
{This has to be my FAVOURITE solo song of the year. The choreo is so fun and it has so much elements, the song itself makes me want to let go of myself and just dance freely. An actual masterpiece}

19. Winter Flower - Younha ft. RM
{I just want to say that this song DESERVES to be an OST of a drama, it’s so freaking beautiful. Younha’s vocals are HEAVENLY and RM’s rap is so fricking amazing and there’s nothing bad you can say about this song.}

18. Kick It - NCT 127
{Honestly, I just randomly sing “new thang, new thang” at the most random times ever. NCT songs are so catchy wtf, this really got me into NCT.}

17. Black Mamba - aespa
{Never expected myself to stan them either but here we are, this song is top tier. One of the best debut songs ever LITERALLY.}

16. Given-Taken - ENHYPHEN
{I never expected Enhyphen to come out with a masterpiece like this one as a debut song. The whole group is shocking to me because they only trained for months yet they don’t even seem like rookies when performing.}

15. Lovesick Girls - BLACKPINK
{I was SO shocked when this song first came out, everything about this screams BLACKPINK. The whole album was a masterpiece.}

14. MMM - Treasure
{This song was literally so YG style, it’s so unique and I really feel like their rap skills and dance skills were showcased during this era.}

13. Girls - NATURE
{I love this song so much, I’m not a fan of them but I’m kind of thinking of stanning them now because this song is literally so so amazing. I absolutely loved the uncensored version of the mv and it’s just an amazing song.}

12. LA DI DA - EVERGLOW
{This song made me stan Everglow, there’s just something about this song that really got me and I discovered how much I liked Everglow’s other title tracks and songs. The choreo is subtle and unique, an amazing cb overall!}

11. Knock - ASTRO
{Now, I became an Aroha because of this song. ASTRO’s discography is so amazing and the visuals of this mv, the song in general is so refreshing to me. I was so happy when they won as well during this era.}

10. Wannabe - ITZY
{This song is probably one of the MOST iconic songs ever in Kpop history. It’s timeless, never gets old and even though I still CAN NOT do the shoulder move, I still love the whole choreo. ITZY really outdid themselves during this era.}

9. Summer Breeze - SF9
{The way I was so obsessed with this song. The concept is so cool, the song was catchy and honestly I was really happy with the amount of lines that Chani got in this one. Hwiyoung looked amazing in this era as well.}

8. Blue Hour - TXT [Tomorrow X Together]
{This whole album is a masterpiece. This song is so refreshing and catchy, very Western to be honest, TXT really doesn’t have any bad songs.}

7. Can’t You See Me - TXT [Tomorrow X Together]
{This might be a little controversial, but I love CYSM better than Blue Hour, I personally prefer TDC:Eternity than the Minisode album and I’m not sorry. This song is such a masterpiece periodt.}

6. Panorama - IZ*ONE
{This song pulled me into the fandom, and I am still learning their names but I am absolutely in love with them and this song is honestly so amazing. Their title tracks are refreshingly groovy and I love it.}

5. Wish You Were Here - SuperM
{I never really thought I’d be adding a SuperM track in this list but Super One’s songs are absolutely amazing, I’m glad I gave them a shot even though I didn’t like their debut song because this song is so beautiful.}

4. God’s Menu - Stray Kids
{This song is an actual masterpiece and I know everyone agrees with me. SKZ really showcased who they are through this song and really executed it well, I still listen to this each and every day.}

3. Black Swan - BTS
{This is definitely one of my favourite releases by them this year if not my favourite. Black Swan is literally top-tier, everything about it from the choreo to the vocals and the song in general is amazing. This song deserved better.}

2. Inception - ATEEZ
{Definitely my favourite ATEEZ song to ever exist, this comeback was so fricking beautiful. The vocals, the choreo, the visuals, the song in general. ATZ just keeps making bops after bops.}

Before we shift to number 1, let me just list down some honorable mentions that I couldn’t put in the list either because I was lazy or just didn’t know how to rank it.

Honorable mentions:

I Can’t Stop Me - TWICE
{This song is so perfect. Catchy and just it has amazing vibes, Chaeyoung’s lines are still stuck in my head and the only reason why this is in the honorable mention is because I didn’t know how to rank this one and I’m lazy.}

Not Shy - ITZY
{This was such a different concept for ITZY but I absolutely loved it, when this came out I was shocked because it was really good and after that I couldn’t stop randomly singing this song out of nowhere and I still randomly sing this.}

Everlasting Shine - TXT
{Yes, I know it’s an animé opening but this song was too good to not be mentioned in this list so...}

Phobia - Stray Kids
{This has to be my favourite b-side track from SKZ, this song is so fucking beautiful and everything about it is so amazing. I’m honestly speechless about this one.}

Secret Story of the Swan - IZ*ONE
{I wasn’t a fan yet when this came out but I always heard this from wherever and I would always vibe with it and now that I’m getting into the girls, I keep listening to this song and I just love it so much.}

Life Goes On - BTS
{This was a song that everyone needed. This year was honestly so horrible and I’m glad BTS decided to release a song like this at this time and especially made it a title track.}

Reveal - The Boyz
{This song is just STUCK in my head and I love this song so much, I’m actually trying to get into TBZ because their songs are really good and they are amazing performers.}

Now let’s dive into my favourite Kpop song of the year:

1. Back Door - Stray Kids
{Yes, I prefer Back Door than God’s Menu—both title tracks are amazing but idk I just found myself to love this song more than God’s Menu which I will probably get attacked for but this song is just a whole masterpiece.}

So I guess that’s it for my top Kpop songs of 2020, I hope you don’t attack me for the way I ranked this and stuff because I have so MUCH more songs to put here in this list if only I could but it’s too bad I couldn’t so I really had to make up my mind for this.
