Here begins a thread of DC Comics characters/comic lines that I would rather see adapted than another fucking Batman film. Buckle up.

Starting with Superheroes, this is a bit of a speed-round:
Red Hood, Nigthwing, The Question, Booster Gold, Manbat, Katana, Mister Terrific. I would love to see any of them given their own small-budget movie or prestige series.

Getting a bit weirder, I would love to see Deadman, Ragman, Detective Chimp, maybe solo, maybe with one of the above heroes. I think Detective Chimp in particular needs to guest star somewhere.

But DC also used to do a bunch of great war comics.
Give us a GI Cobat anthology with a few Haunted Tank stories. Give us an Unknown Soldier series. Or hell take to the skies with Enemy Ace or Blackhawk.

Or maybe tap their fantasy catalog and give us Arak Son of Thunder, Amethyst Princess of Gemworld, or a goddamned Warlord series. Or maybe a totally unhinged Kamandi Last Boy on Earth series!

But the HUGE missed opportunity is horror anthologies. DC used to do a bunch of great ones. The Unexpected, Black Magic, Witching Hour, House of Secrets, House of Mystery. Any of those could support an incredible #Horror anthology movie or series.

Honestly, throw a dart at the back cataloge and go for it. DC is an IP powerhouse. Tons of great characters and material. And it doesn't make sense to drop $200 million on a film anymore when you can take a chance on one of these others for a fraction of the cost.

I mean, who WOULDN'T want to see Daniel Kaluuya as Mr. Teriffic? Or Aubrey Plaza as Zatanna? Or Christopher Walken voicing Detective Chimp?
