I've decided to put together a threat about all the interesting/weird/wtf things I find in the BYU yearbooks as I do research for my honors thesis. Enjoy lol.
this student bio from 1911 made me chuckle
same with this (1913)
Possibly one of the first Asian students to attend BYU (1911). They included this meme of him in the back of the yearbook with no context but it feels pretty racist to me.
Women's Strike 1913
Possibly one of the first Pacific Islander students at BYU (1913).
Helen Keller visited the university in 1914.
Seems like a nice, wholesome event (1914)
Should we tell him? (1915)
I feel like I have to stan Miss Johnson who dressed like this for her 1912 photo and went out in 1915 with this as her senior bio.
For years one of the most popular chants at sporting events was in German, make of that what you will (1915)
There is no context for this photo but man do we look like a cult (1916)
whelp... (1917)
