Ok so I need people to hear this and understand.

When someone is describing a bad experience they had with a doctor

It's not actually helpful to tell that person that other doctors exist.

This is not directed at anyone personally. But it is nearly constant & I need it to stop
There are INFINITE reasons why someone cannot just switch doctors

There is no guarantee that another doctor will be any better.

It is -really- agitating to keep getting told that I am Doing Being a Patient Wrong and if I just do A Simple Thing, all my problems will be fixed.
There are SYSTEMATIC problems with medical care.

It's probably comforting to people to imagine that you can just get a new better doctor

Or that there is some meaningful way to report the bad ones so they face consequences.

But this is a fantasy.
We are all at the mercy of how medical professionals decide to treat us.

And if they decide to mistreat you, there is almost nothing you can do.

That's grim, but it's also reality.
It's not helpful.

And It's not even FOR ME

I'm grown, I know how going to the doctor works.
I know better than I wish I did.

This is a thing people say for THEMSELVES.

To protect themselves from the ugliness of reality.
I would very much like to use this account to be able to complain when a doctor treats me badly.

Complaining on the internet has been my outlet since 1995.

But at this point, I am exhausted from people giving me useless advice I didn't ask for.
It feels BAD.

It happens so much and I just want you to think before you barge into people's mentions and start ordering them around.
