Trevor Hillebrand @LosAlamosNatLab et al. find nonlinear basal friction law helpful to match Humboldt Glacier model to observation. Model suggests surface mass balance has bigger role in glacier future evolution than ocean forcing.

. @donald_glacier applies elastic beam theory to look at serac failure calving (from shear) v. rotational failure (tensile stress) and finds that the spatial pattern of undercutting makes a big difference in expected calving style. #AGU20
