Today is my last day as interim CMO at @bookcameo. I am sad to leave but have an itch I just need to scratch.
Being part of the @bookcameo fameo has been some of the most rewarding and exciting time of my life. Creating magical moments for millions of people throughout the COVID quarantine has been a bright light during such a challenging time for the world.
My first week at Cameo, there was a Park’s and Rec reunion special and @azizansari did a whole bit about his character Tom being booted off of Cameo. This blew me away.
A few weeks later @bookcameo was about to cross the millionth Cameo created and to celebrate, we planned to send somebody to space with their favorite celebrity in partnership with @virgingalactic.
This was first pushed back to make sure SpaceX didn’t blow up their first manned mission and then again because of the murder of George Floyd.
@Mr312 decided to pivot the focus away from space and toward supporting black voices and we did a massive fundraiser for the causes connected to George Floyd and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Cameo also gave $1m to the team and allowed them to donate it to any cause of their choice, matched personally by @Mr312
