Still digesting the school closure announcement (let's call a spade a spade).
Many concerns, some summarised in this thread.

Huge amount of confusion about the rules - which schools are closed, when and for how long. Leaves parents, particularly those of primary school aged kids with little time to plan.
Lack of credible exit strategy. Do we really believe that there is any prospect of primary schools in hotspot areas going back on the 18th 'review date'?
The availability of our entire secondary school system post Jan 18th is tied to a testing regime which all involved in delivering are saying is undeliverable. This is insane.
Still no impact assessment of harms. Still no evidence of higher transmission in schools than in the community in general. On what basis can this be claimed to be a proportionate decision @GavinWilliamson?
Still no plan for education out of school other than remote, which @Ofstednews's own chief inspector has said is "no substitute" for in person education. Hard to see how this is a return to education or fulfilment of the @educationgovuk's duty to educate children under the HRA.
The US Government have acknowledged that “the prolonged deprivation of in-person learning opportunities has produced undeniably dire consequences for the children of [the USA].”
Yet this is what we are now going to do to our kids.
