The Irish Far Right are already using the shooting of George Nkencho to stir up hatred & division. I'd urge everyone to proceed with caution, do not to engage/quote with these accounts, & report anyone sharing the video of his death. #GeorgeNkencho
Also, the Venn Diagram of people celebrating the shooting of a black man with mental health problems *and* the people who were demanding we end the lockdown because of "the mental health crisis" will be a perfect fucking circle...
Irish Far Right groups have been working with their UK counterparts for years now, but these links have been growing since Brexit. British White Nationalists used BLM protests as a recruiting tool. The Irish Far Right are salivating at the opportunity this death presents them.
I'm not screenshotting the tweets I've already seen. The Irish Far Right have been watching & *waiting* for a polarizing event like this it. They've seen how the UK's FR have successfully exploited these horrific events. Do *not* rise to the bait. Don't engage. Don't "debate".
I'm not going to comment on the case more than to say "12 Cops shoot a black man 5 times" is a headline you'd supposedly read about happening Charlotte NC, not Clonee.
What do I mean by "problematic" accounts?

Accounts with an anonymous profile, or that have been recently set up, or have few if any followers. Like this POS fake account which is already in my mentions on this thread. Just block them, don't engage in their bad faith arguments.
Here're more examples of the kind of accounts you should just block immediately, all taken from the replies to this thread. All accounts set up in the past 6 months, all anonymous, all with a handful of followers or following the same accounts (suggesting a sock puppet network)
You'll find these accounts spamming any and all related threads to the killing of #GeorgeNkencho. These accounts are all being run by the same handful of people, it's best to just block & move on. They want your attention, they're trying to goad & bait you.
100% correct, Ann. There is a concerted sockpuppet campaign by the Irish FR on social media to make their numbers seem larger than they actually are. You can see the level of excitement the killing of George Nkencho has generated on Irish far right forums https://twitter.com/am_flynn/status/1344607010462048256?s=20
The comments are surprisingly predictable & tedious, 1 thing you can never accuse the Irish Far Right of is "overthinking". Lots of "facts dont care about your feelings" or "triggered LOL". It's important to remember that this is an intentional tactic they use. Don't rise to it.
Yes, heaven forbid that the killing of a black man by the Garda becomes the catalyst for a national reckoning on racism in our country.

Final, final, thing. It is worth checking your recent followers Right no, particularly if you've been tweeting using the #GeorgeNkencho or #BlackLivesMatter hashtags. You'll probably find accounts like this one (But mind you, probably not as transparently fake).
You can follow @artimusfoul.
