In 2018 Bayer acquired Monsanto for US$66 billion in an all-cash deal. The company ranked 199th on the 2018 Fortune 500 of the largest US corporations by revenue.
In June 2020, Bayer agreed to pay numerous settlements in lawsuits involving Monsanto products RoundUp.
