2020 was full of ups and down. The global pandemic revealed a lot about my family, my team and what’s truly important...
When the pandemic hit, my wife (who was 5 months pregnant at the time) and I moved from NYC into the suburbs. No one knew the effects that COVID might have on pregnancy, so we wanted to be extra careful. My wife wasn’t able to see her family for the entire pregnancy.
At the same time, physical distancing led to a massive drop off in the bread and butter of our business: there were no in-person events, no trade shows, and no one in the office to order swag. In Q2, the swag industry was down more then 44% - it has not been easy for anyone.
People were telling us to cut down and do whatever we could to survive.
Thankfully we didn’t listen! We knew what our team was capable of and that we would find a way.
In 2020 we were able to:
•Donate 5,000+ facemasks to frontline workers and homeless shelters
•Develop our Swag Distribution Platform to address the new world of remote work.
•Grow our team by over 100%
•More then double our YOY sales
Our secret was realizing that physical connection will always be important to a business. As team leaders, it crucial to do the things that bring people together. People are the heart of everything.
I could not be prouder of what our team accomplished this year! I can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store. Happy New Year!
