Decided to do a full (re)playthrough of the Metal Gear Solid series. Rolled credits on MGS last night.
- Wildly ahead of its time
- So much smaller than I remember
- The art holds up wonderfully
- David Hayter rules
- It's the 2nd best movie of 1998 after The Thin Red Line

Finished Metal Gear Solid 2.
- Tanker’s sandbox interactions are wonderful
- Love the Raiden bait-and-switch
- Underwhelming bosses for MGS
- Themes of widespread dis/misinformation are utterly prescient
- First of many Kojima games as a meta-commentary on the creative process

For anyone who digs Metal Gear Solid 2, @Adilegian’s Formal Analysis is a must-read. One of my favorite in-depth pieces on any game ever. Just wonderful stuff. Would love to see it turned into a video essay someday.
