LRT is disgusting, as much as i love national parks, this is just another reminder of how awful NPS has treated native people, from being used as an excuse to strip us of our land to being assaulted when we use a "PUBLIC" resource
this was a good thread i saw just yesterday, which was actually abt white vegans vs indigenous self-sustainability, but NPS is of course a huge player is denying us that right and stealing swathes of land from us

i love this paper too, please give it a read, because it not only gives more info, but it always brings up the point that national parks are used as propaganda, to convince people that this land was empty and natural and that ntv ppl dont belong here
an indigenous man getting tazed isn't just some one-off event, it's a series of trauma that has plagued native ppl for over a century, if you love national parks (i do too) but you gotta pay attention to its local tribe, cuz they're probably still hurting
i think what really pisses me off is that the man was acting out of kindness, doing his part to social distance and walked around people, only to return to the trail to be assaulted and arrested, it's nauseating
