MY LEAST FAVORITE ALBUMS OF 2020 (A THREAD OF PART 1):
2020 has been undeniably Lil Baby's year, he had such a big year. And My Turn was the start of all that. However, I always had a problem when getting into his music. His voice is so thin and he mumbles so much that I turn the track off so much (1/3).
Not only that, but his production is incredibly standard. On this album, I felt like the 808s hit the same way for 20 tracks and it was so tedious to get through. That's what this album is, tedious. 14 tracks of this 20 track runtime does not need to be here. (2/3)
And there's a deluxe on here as well which is even more tedious to get through but The Bigger Picture is on there and that's one of the best songs of 2020. There are some highlights, such as Get Ugly and Emotionally Scarred and some solid features, like Gunna and Lil Wayne. (3/3)
On my first listen, this album was not that bad but after the first listen, this album felt like nothing. Lil Uzi Vert and Future work pretty well before the project, with songs like Wassup. However, they pretty much cancel each other out on this collab album. (1/3)
Songs like Stripes Like Burberry and I Don't Wanna Break Up does not need Future and feels like he ruins the track. And songs like Moment Of Clarity and Drankin N Smokin does not need Lil Uzi Vert. (2/3)
Honestly, my favorite tracks were the ones where Lil Uzi Vert and Future were rapping separately, like Lullaby and Rockstar Chainz. (3/3)
We got 3 NAV projects this year and this one was the most unnecessary. This is the deluxe album to Good Intentions, which was released like a few days after Good Intentions and that was the first sign we got NAV overload. (1/2)
While Good Intentions was a bad album, it had something that made it a bit interesting, like the many features and songs like Turks and Recap. On Brown Boy 2, there is literally nothing memorable about it, there are 2 features and NAV sounds so thin, it hurts. (2/2)
Blueface had a very interesting style, with his off beat rapping and his Courage The Cowardly Dog type vocal effects that caught my attention. However, it did not stay with me that long and he tries to find the beat on this project and still manages to find the garbage can. (1/2)
And this is his DEBUT album, nonetheless. Everything that made him interesting is gone on this album. His style is more annoying than before and even the features are not that strong on here, like Lil Baby's performance on Weekend is terrible. I am done with his music. (2/2)
I wanted to like this album because I heard great things about this album and the album cover looks like HE IS BALLIN'. However, this was incredibly disappointing. I never enjoyed Future's music, his influence on trap music is incredible but getting into his music kills me. (1/4)
His voice annoys me so much, it is both sleepy and mumbley. Not only that but most of the production genuinely sounds the same, like the same trap melody for 14+ tracks in a row. That is why I can never say albums like DS2 and Monster are fantastic or even trap classics. (2/4)
Both of these irritations are present throughout High Off Life and even worse because this album is so long. I started to feel annoyed on the 6th track and after listening to the whole album. I did not listen to trap album for a month because of this album. (3/4)
However, there are some good tracks, like Solitaires, Trillionaire, Harlem Shake, Too Comfortable and 100 Shooters but everything else can be deleted. (4/4)
Justin Bieber's regression as an artist is honestly shocking. I was fine with him taking a break because he really needed one but coming back with songs like Changes and Intentions is crazy. (1/2)
This album would be whatever if Justin Bieber was younger and more immature but he's 26 and a married man. The lyrics are beyond awful and the singing is so cringe throughout. My favorite part of Changes was a Lil Dicky feature...... (2/2)
