if you, as a bi non-man, genuinely hate being attracted to (esp cishet, particularly white cishet) men, in a society that overwhemingly rewards you in every way possible for that attraction, and encourages you at every step to choose men over non-men .... Think About That
comp het doesn’t only affect lesbians and your attraction to men, as a non-man, doesn’t exist in a vacuum. cisheteropatriachal norms, ideals, values and as a mindset don’t just see you’re bi and go well! guess i won’t impact the way they relate to others and their own sexuality!
there’s a Lot to unpack here but 1. i’m confused as to how it’s “to an extent bi men/people shouldn’t feel bad for liking men”, when homophobia is Right There. it’s a completely diff ball game for a bi man to experience disgust/repulsion for being attracted to men???
2. i basically just addressed this in the og tweet but i repeat — if you, as a bi non-man, genuinely hate feeling attracted to men it’s probs a good idea to step back and consider that*;; and that you can call yourself bi w/ out engaging with men @ all
3. once again. attraction to men as a bi non-man isn’t what society is punishing y’all for. and the normalisation of bi non-men openly saying “god i hate being with men SO MUCH, it makes me feel disgusting, depressed; i wish i could stop”.......y’all aren’t concerned????
