In the movie it’s not until joe was in places of Jupiter. He started to question his purpose.
Like we all do.
It’s not until we travel. Go away to school. Date outside our culture. Study self. Get married. Expand outside our purposes.
That we see it doesn’t really matter.

Picture folks who played ball, danced, made music & was really good at it. But lost the momentum and now is stuck in finding that same obsession.

Reason why I believe in earlier times ball players were taken right after high school.
They didn’t want life to hit those kids.
