THREAD Well that is the phase over of getting voters to move from no2yes by opposing Brexit and simply letting the U.K. and WM do their worst to make the union unattractive. It’s worked well and was wise imo. But this tactic will max out over the next few months 1/1
Now we move into the proactive phase of selling the alternative to this maximum U.K. shitshow and a path to Indy that A. Is not easily derailed B. Does not risk scaring off the likely soft new yes converts. That won’t be easy. The next defining moment will be the SNP manifesto
v few know what the plan is. I don’t believe the plan is simply2ask for a section 30 then go ‘ok’ to the refusal. That’s be absurd. The willingness of snp to give the impression this is the case and take huge flack suggests they do have a plan they desperately dont want2reveal
I believe the snp are more than ever aware that their are Trojans in the holyrood machine. The Eck case revealed that. They can’t not know that. Its obvious. I think they are playing a v subtle game, possibly playing dumb, keeping the Trojans close but feeding them disinfo.
My belief is the SNP are behaving in a way that suggests they are hiding something v big in their plans at all costs, including spreading disinfo that causes unpopularity and schism within because the stakes are so high it’s worth that downside.
It’s possible that unknowingly (or perhaps not in some cases) those trying to change the snp and the changes in the NEC (which on the surface look good) could place security risks into the heart of the party machine. Time will tell.
But I think paranoia and secrecy is natural in a state breaking party that brit intel are trying to undermine. I think that will likely make innermost circle paranoia and secrecy increase even more as there may be big trust issues between the old guard and the new influx.
