Alexa, read Romans 13 and Matthew 22:34-40.

Something that always fascinates me is how conservative Evangelicals claim the Bible is 100% absolute truth, but they regularly cite the U.S. Constitution when the Bible — and specifically Jesus — doesn't fit their worldview.

The U.S. Constitution is not found in the Bible.
This is a great reminder that the American Church's worst wounds are self-inflicted. White Evangelical Nationalism is a deadly force that is anti-Gospel & anti-life.

I say all this as someone who grew up in Evangelicalism and goes to a church with "Evangelical" in the name.
I know plenty of people who identify as Evangelical and don't behave like this. They're charitable, kind, and helpful.

I wish more of them would speak out. This is an internal fight the Church needs to have, especially since so many church leaders are just wringing their hands.
If you're interested in some practical ways on how to start guiding Evangelicals you know away from some of these things, here you go: https://mchackett.medium.com/persuading-evangelicals-not-to-vote-republican-a199ce32d640

At some point, I'm going to write a different version of this that is centered around the day-to-day, not an election.
