can attest to it: here's the same artwork reposted on my account. the first one is captioned whatever, the second time is captioned with an engaging question. while the difference isnt too much, keep in mind reposting your own art tend to get less engagement. https://twitter.com/Foervraengd/status/1343278922927112192
ummm mine is not a "hot take" or "provoking", but it encourages engagement by asking YOU, the viewer, something ("would you do X" or "which one would you X")
here's another example. the caption is posed as a question and that encourages engagement https://twitter.com/refrainbow/status/1321348263551725568
making the audience relate to your post also boosts engagement, since ppl will be like "omg me" or tag their friend with like "this is us". case in point this one (keep in mind THESE IMAGES ARE SCUFFED SCREENSHOTS... but they still perform well) https://twitter.com/refrainbow/status/1331641857781030917
the caveat is that you might get qrt-ed a lot, and get non-art related comments, which a lot of artists may not like. so thts something to keep in mind
