Let's talk about some of the moral and ethical issues surrounding this death. I was thinking about this very early this morning... https://twitter.com/reneeygraham/status/1344266725664108550
How do we talk about people who die from Covid who clearly didn't pay attention to anything that they were supposed to be doing? No masks, social distancing, any mitigation for themselves or others?
Ask it because I'm watching how people are talking about this death and perusing all the pictures. I mean, Fair enough to criticize I totally get it. But.....
It also makes me think about the people who have to work through the pandemic, who died or became severely ill because they had to work, and they did everything right. Their deaths do not get the recognition that Letlaw is garnering.
I guess my question is this Is it fair to do the "I told you so" for Letlow ,but yet forget about the people who did everything right but still became sick and died? Can we give them the recognition and the grief that their deaths deserve? I know that a lot of that is happening..
But I really fear that the explosion that is coming post Christmas in New year's of illness and death is going to test all of us in terms of the way that we process the tragedy of Covid, and how it will affect our grieving.
I also hope that for those who continue to do whatever the hell they want to do regularly pretending nothing will happen to them will become more aware of their choices and the effects on others. Letlow's wife and kids are in a mess because he followed politics, not science
Final note- I'm thinking about all of this because I actually have a family member that has put elderly people in my family in danger and I'm really ticked off about it. It's taking me a few days to calm down.. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to talk to this person again
But to be honest, I have to say I've lost respect for this person because they have been selfish in the way that they have carried themselves, and all in the guise of doing Christian duty. It really is upsetting.
people like this and Letlow don't care that their ideologically based idiocy of science puts their whole community at risk, and not just themselves. That's why Covid is rampant. It shows the inability of people in all of our communities to consider others besides themselves.
